Spend the Day with Us: A Hands-On Sourdough Workshop at Terroir
Join us at Terroir Artisan Bakery for an immersive, full-day sourdough workshop inside our new brick-and-mortar space—a warm, purpose-built bakery and teaching kitchen rooted in local farms and sustainable food practices. Together, we’ll explore the craft of sourdough using vibrant, freshly milled flours, seasonal organic produce, and our living wild yeast culture.
We’ll begin the day with introductions and foundational theory, followed by a few hours of hands-on baking. As our bread proofs, we’ll prepare and share a casual lunch together, then finish by baking our loaves in the deck oven—while learning how to replicate professional techniques at home. This workshop is equal parts skill-building and sensory learning, designed to help you bake with confidence and intuition.
What You’ll Learn:
- Understand and manage both liquid and stiff (Pasta Madre) starters with various flours and grains
- Mix, shape, and bake country sourdough in a professional setting—and learn how to recreate it at home
- Manage enriched sourdoughs using our signature sourdough burger bun recipe, with a focus on shaping techniques and fermentation timing
- Work with inclusions and additives: when to add them, how much to use, and how they affect dough structure and flavour
- Break free from rigid recipes—adapt your baking to suit your schedule while understanding how time impacts sourdough flavour.
- Plus, countless tips and tricks drawn from decades of culinary experience
